Founded in September 2011, Lufax initially started as a peer-to-peer lending service, but is now expanding its scope of financial products by working along with insurance companies, funds and financial licence holders. According to the Wall Street Journal, by 2015 the company had arranged over 200,000 peer-to-peer loans, worth a total of $2.5 billion.
According to CNBC, the Chinese fintech giant Lufax will issue 175,000,000 American depositary shares (ADS), being valued at about US$2.36 billion. The company plans to get listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) under the ticker “LU”.
